Weathered: Inside the LA Firestorm
A Nationally Broadcast Documentary on the Frontlines of California’s Wildfires
As Director of Photography for Weathered: Inside the LA Firestorm, I had the privilege of capturing one of the most intense and visually striking wildfire documentaries ever broadcast on national television. This film, which aired across the country, offers an unfiltered look at the devastating wildfires that have reshaped California and the lives of those on the frontlines.
Shot in extreme conditions, Weathered takes audiences inside the heart of the LA firestorm, where firefighters, first responders, and affected communities battle not only the flames but also the increasing unpredictability of wildfire behavior. The documentary delves into the science of these disasters, the mental and physical toll on those who fight them, and the urgent need for policy and technological advancements to mitigate future destruction.
My role as Director of Photography placed me in some of the most dangerous wildfire zones, working alongside teams to document the raw, chaotic reality of these infernos. Through high-impact cinematography, the film provides a visceral and emotional perspective that resonated with viewers nationwide, elevating awareness about the increasing severity of wildfires and the resilience of those who stand in their path.
